As the business grows, we need to rethink the way the systems are designed to keep improving security, reliability and performance. As the team grows, we need to reassess the way we organise ourselves. We are continuously changing and adapting. What took us here won’t take us to the next level.

Life in startup. Enjoy the ride!

In this journey to keep supporting the business, our engineering team monitors closely how big players like Netflix, Google or Atlassian solve some of the scalability problems we are having, both on the engineering and human side. But, as many startups, we find ourselves in a slightly different position where we dream big but we have a small team of engineers to achieve these big goals. Still, we are able to solve some of these big complicated problems and we feel damn good and proud about it.

So we thought sharing this journey would be interesting for other organisations that are finding themselves in similar situation. We hope this helps other engineering functions and you can learn from our mistakes and learnings. And be mindful, each organisation is unique and you need to play what works best for you.
